Gift of Flowers
Sunday morning and we were having breakfast. It was among the usual quiet mornings that one may have. Neighbors were passing occupied with the chores of the day. Then, a middle-aged woman passed by our lot. She asked for a flower from among the flowering plants set upon our front porch. My nanay (that's what we call our mom) seemed a little awkward at first but readily obliged.
I saw the woman went on her way flower in hand with a smile and saying,"para kay papa Jesus" She was most likely on her way to church.
A lot of us give gifts to special people on their birthdays, on Christmas or on special occasions. Amidst all these we may overlook the fact that everyday is a special day--a special occasion to celebrate another beautiful day given to us by our maker. Everyday is an opportunity to give thanks and praises as our gift to our Lord not just on Sundays.
Thank you for the gift of another day to praise and serve you Lord.
