Match Aftermath

The city turned silent and all eyes were glued to their television sets as the boxing match between Manny Paquiao and Timothy Bradley neared airing on the 10th of June 2012. There was the familiar lull prior to Paquiao's fights, places packed with people and anticipation as well as the overwhelming support for the Filipino boxer by his countrymen. Cheers and boos can be heard from all around for every punch and jab each fighter delivered to his opponent. The crowd was truly alive and relishing every moment.

Twelve rounds. One blow and then another. The bell rang.

The crowd was shocked as the new world welterweight title holder was announced at MGM Grand. Bradley won by split decision! It was truly unexpected. Social networking sites were flooded with comments, phones kept beeping and discussions never seized. It was the world's trending topic.

Things may not turn out as we expect or want them to. We may fervently hope and pray for one thing to happen but it doesn't. That doesn't mean that we are not bound for great things. It only means that there is a greater and more magnificent future awaiting us. Let us patiently wait. Our time will definitely come.

Lord, let me serve you with all my heart as I await for the glorious future you have prepared for me.

"When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future." Ecclesiastes 7:14 NIV
